Dr Michael Johns
Dr Michael Johns is a principal dentist at Beaches Dental Mona Vale and has worked in Mona Vale for almost 30 years. As one of the longest serving dentists still practicing in Mona Vale, he has spent years caring for all his loyal patients, young and old. Dr Johns graduated from the University of Sydney in 1980 and began his career at a busy surgery in Parramatta before setting up in Mona Vale and building his reputation as a family dentist specialising in general and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr Johns places great importance in continuing education and is an avid attendee at many local and overseas conventions & courses, covering all aspect of dental innovation, with particular interest in Endodontics, Implantology and Cosmetic & Aesthetics Dentistry. He is a member of the ADA and committee member of the Manly Warringah Dental Study Group.
Michael and his wife Karen have lived in the area for 36 years and have raised three children. They have always been very active in the community, through local schools, members of the Avalon Lions Club, various Chambers of Commerce, the “Save Mona Vale Hospital” Committee and have worked tirelessly on many campaigns to protect and support local community issues and the local environment. Michael keeps himself healthy and fit by running & surfing before work and if he isn’t travelling with his wife Karen, he manages the occasional trips away surfing or snowboarding with his mates.
Dr Meredith Gay
Dr Meredith Gay is a principal dentist at Beaches Dental Mona Vale and loves caring for all her patients as well as increasing community awareness about oral health. Meredith graduated with Honours from the University of Sydney in 2011 with a Bachelor of Dentistry. Since then she has worked at only 2 dental practices one in Penrith and Beaches Dental Mona Vale. Over this time Meredith has fostered her love of learning and done many continuing education courses to further her skill set and ability to provide the best and newest treatment options to patients. Meredith is a member of the Australian Dental Association, the NSW Endondontic Society and Manly Warringah Dental Study Group.
Meredith provides a complete range of dental treatments with a focus on preventative and restorative dentistry (including Aesthetic and Cosmetic dentistry) and enjoys treating the whole family from kids to grandparents and everyone in between. Meredith focuses on each patient`s different needs creating individualised treatment plans that she takes the time to explain in detail.
Meredith is also a busy mum raising kids on the Northern Beaches spending her time out of the surgery going to soccer games, the park, bike riding around Narrabeen lake or relaxing on the beach with her family.
Dr Isaac Suh
Dr Isaac Suh graduated dentistry from the University of Queensland and where he provide dental care in Brisbane Hospital, Toowoomba Base Hospital and Bribie Island Pacific Smiles, where he carried out extensive oral rehabilitation in both Government and private sectors.
Moving back to Sydney in Dr Isaac has established a reputation for quality dental services including general, cosmetic and emergency dental care. Dr Isaac is committed to continuing his professional education, keeping up to date with the latest industry developments by attending seminars nationally and internationally. He is passionate in all aspects of dentistry with special interest in regenerative dentistry (CGF) and cosmetic dentistry.
Isaac`s gentle and friendly approach means his patients and their families feel at ease in his care. Isaac provides not only provides quality dental care but takes the time to explain it fully. Aside from dentistry Isaac enjoys camping, fishing and bushwalking with his drone. At home he enjoys spending time growing bonsai trees and has a love for parrots.
Dr Andrea Bayer
Dr Andrea Bayer graduated dentistry from the University of Queensland in 2011. Since then she has spent her time since looking after patients in a busy private practice in Brisbane’s eastern suburbs.
Andrea enjoys helping people and encouraging patients who would generally avoid dental treatment. She has a gentle chair-side manner and takes time to thoroughly explain treatment options to her patients. Her passion for delivering a high standard of dentistry keeps her motivated to learn and expand her knowledge.
Andrea enjoys being part of the Northern Beaches community, making the most of the beaches whenever she can. She loves being active and spending time with family and friends.
Dr Alan Trinh
After graduating from Sydney University in 2001, Alan proceeded to work in rural and regional centres across NSW in order to help alleviate the dental access shortage. During this time, he became passionate about oral surgery, and upon returning to Sydney joined the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Sydney University, where he held Associate Lecturer and Clinical Associate titles for many years. Here, he was closely involved in teaching Sydney University graduates in the discipline of Oral Surgery from Westmead Hospital.
A member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, Alan holds a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry in Oral Implants from the University of Sydney and has been performing oral surgery and implant procedures for over 15 years.
Loved and trusted for his honest and fun nature, Alan puts his patients at ease by chatting about his favourite subjects of skiing, travelling, the wonders of Japanese sake and, sometimes, his family!
Dr Winey Wan
Winey started her dental journey in 2008 when she graduated as an Oral Health therapist after which she decided to become a dentist in 2013, graduating from Charles Sturt University. Her experiences have helped shaped her interests in dentistry including:
- The prevention and management of oral disease including periodontal disease
- Working with anxious and dental phobic patients, helping them build long term confidence in the dental setting
- Working with children including special needs and medically compromised children and managing dental trauma.
Winey’s interest in treating children led her to further studies in paediatric dentistry at the University of Sydney. She currently mixes up her working life between pursuing her specialty training at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health and Children’s Hospital at Westmead and working in private practice. Winey has also thoroughly enjoyed her time in clinical training of undergraduate students at Charles Sturt University and The University of Sydney.
Outside of work, you can find Winey exploring the world and immersing herself amongst the beautiful nature of this world. Discovering waterfalls in majestic rainforests and hiking up mountains in time for a beautiful sunrise, is her ideal way in welcoming a bright new day!
